Rehabilitation of a house built in the 60’s, located in the Arrábida Natural Park, into a weekend getaway by the sea. The project deals with the local building laws applied to constructions in protected natural zone that don’t allow existing openings to be modified or the typology of the roof to be changed.
The 3 story volume, located in the Atlantic shore, opens itself to southeast towards the ocean and to northwest towards a valley, through which the last sunrays of the day reach the house. Facing it, the living area with a deck and a small pool engage naturally with the wild surrounding environment.
